QER Oil Shale site 3D Animation

After a successful 3D campaign depicting the operation process of the new QER oil shale processing plant in Gladstone. Animation Ink was contracted to produce a 3D flyover of the site using Digital Terrain Models and Satellite Imagery.

Using the latest in EcoSystem Population Program & the Queensland largest 3D render farm, Animation Ink populated the scene with over 1.2 million instance of trees, grass, and bushes to produce a look which was realistic and aligned with QER corporate guidelines.

    Queensland Energy Resources (QER) is an Australian company seeking to address looming shortfalls of conventional transport fuel through sustainable development of Queensland’s rich and well-located oil shale resources.

    Based in Brisbane, QER has tenements over Australia’s largest oil shale deposits, containing some 16 billion barrels of oil, well-suited to producing heavy transport fuels – diesel and aviation fuel.

    In 2005, QER adopted the Paraho ‘surface retorting’ technology to develop the deposits, after extensive trials, on the basis of clean, stable, consistent and reliable operating performance.
